COVID-19 Notice
To the People We Support, Families and Advocates:
We know some of you may be concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) being reported in the media and how it impacts us here at Oswego Industries and The Arc of Oswego County. Ensuring the people we support are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern. At this time, we do not have any cases in our facility. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended a variety of steps that we are implementing to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our building. However, we need your help in battling COVID-19. Below are some examples of how you can help protect yourself and your family, as well as prevent the spread throughout the community.
At this time, we request that you self-quarantine if you have any symptoms of respiratory illness. Those symptoms include: cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and/or shortness of breath. We understand that connecting with the support team is important, and there are a variety of other ways you might consider connecting with them. These include telephone or email.
Our facility is following the recommendations of the CDC on prevention steps, including following strict hand-washing procedures, enhanced cleaning protocols, and staff education efforts. We are staying up-to-date with the CDC recommendations as the situation evolves. In addition, our facility will be in contact with the local and state health department as needed. We have posted signs on all of our entryway doors to notify visitors of the symptoms of illness and request that they not enter the building if experiencing these symptoms. We will notify you if staff or anyone we support is diagnosed with COVID-19. Should the person you support become ill, please let us know. If someone in your household contracts COVID-19, please notify us as soon as possible. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have at oncall@oswegoind.org.
Sincerely,
Oswego Industries & The Arc of Oswego County
