Assistant Manager of Services – Full-Time

The Assistant Manager of Services is responsible for daily programmatic oversight of all community and site-based habilitative services provided by Oswego Industries and the Arc of Oswego County. They work under the general administrative direction of the Manager of Services and assist with implementation of departmental operations. The Assistant Manager of Services fosters and maintains a person-centered environment that is both safe and effective at improving the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 

What you need to apply:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (required).
  • Minimum of 1-year experience supervising a habilitation program and/or service (required).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field (preferred).
  • Valid NY State Driver’s License.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work and ready availability for offsite travel.
  • Acceptable safe driving record in accordance with the agency’s Safe Driver Policy.

Director of Quality Assurance – Full-Time

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for the development, implementation, and the monitoring of all the agencies’ quality assurance and compliance programs. The director ensures that all programs maintain the highest quality consistent with the agency’s mission and vision. The Director of Quality Assurance position is a full time, exempt position.

Fundraising Coordinator – Part-Time

SUMMARY: The Fundraising Coordinator directs, administers, and manages the fundraising efforts for Arc of Oswego County and our sister agency, Oswego Industries, Inc. in accordance with policies and pertinent laws, rules, and regulations. This is a goal-oriented position with quarterly fund procurement expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plans and organizes all fundraising, endowment, and planned/major giving of OI/Arc, increasing the community’s awareness, acceptance, and support of fundraising.
• Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers for fundraising events as needed; compiles and maintains reference files on same as needed.
• Makes risk analyses and balances time-cost ratios to ensure the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success.
• Maintains up-to-date donor mailing lists and records of donor gifts. Maintains files of fundraising correspondence and proposals.
• Develops corporation, organization, and individual prospect lists.
• Organizes the use of direct mailing with the Marketing and Communications Associate to a wide range of potential and current donors.
• Serves as the chairperson for the Agency’s Fundraising Committee.
• Develops relationships with local media, including editors, reporters, news directors, and broadcast personalities.
• Collaborates with other departments to identify funding needs and communicates fund usage intentions to potential donors.
• Remains well informed of the latest developments in the field of funding, community, and public relations, through reading, attendance at seminars, etc.
• Promotes good will and interest in the agency; and represents the agency at community functions.
• Provides monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as requested, by the Director of Administration.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter with the ability to set and meet deadlines. Well versed in community fundraising incentives; fundraising experience required and non-profit fundraising experience preferred. Very high degree of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.

Community-Based DSP (Direct Support Professional) – Full-Time/Part-Time

SUMMARY: The Arc of Oswego County and our sister agency, Oswego Industries, are recruiting Community-Based Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Community Habilitation Team. A Community-Based DSP must be patient, compassionate, and detailed oriented. They are responsible for providing services aimed at promoting positive community engagement, independence, instruction, and guidance to support individuals with disabilities. This is a goal-oriented program that has positive, meaningful, daily impacts on the lives of adults with disabilities.

The Community Habilitation program has flexible hours determined by the needs of the individual and the DSP providing services, to include full-time and part-time positions. Respite Aide Part-Time

SUMMARY: The Arc Respite Aide is responsible for providing direct care to individuals attending the Recreation program. This position is responsible for supporting the Arc Coordinator of Recreational Respite Services, which includes hands-on assistance, supervision, instruction, and guidance for the programs’ individuals. The Arc Respite Aide implements assigned goals, objectives, and services for individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide hands-on assistance, instruction, and guidance on an individual, small, and large group basis in the development of skills, as outlined in program plans, to individuals in various settings as appropriate.

• Assist individuals with personal care and hygiene needs as necessary. Demonstrates appropriate techniques in all physical interactions or interventions with consumers, including lifting, transferring, positioning, or redirecting.

• Act as a member of the recreation team, providing feedback, suggestions, etc. for program plans for individuals. Assists, as requested, in assessment and evaluation of individuals’ needs and abilities.

• Accompany individuals on community outings as requested.

• Ensure safety of participants.

• Serve as a positive role model for individuals.

• Work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary in order to meet the needs of individuals served.

• Must be able to transport self and individuals in an Agency provided vehicle and/or their own vehicle through-out entire service area (Oswego County) as well as to program activity sites.

• Must maintain job-required certifications and/or licenses.

• Support the goals and mission of The Arc of Oswego County. Ensure that communications and personal performance reflect the Agency’s commitment to teamwork, compliance with policies and procedures, and respect for individuals and staff.

• Computer knowledge beneficial.

• Attend and participate in required Arc meetings, staff development, and training programs.

• Establish and provide clear and legible documentation and compliance records required by The Arc and government agencies.

• Provide other job-related support and services as required or assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and/or GED. Experience with individuals challenged by disabilities preferred. Combination of education and experience which, in the judgment of the employer, equals above standards. A valid NYS driver’s license. Ability to pass required background checks.
