ARC of Oswego County has been a leader in the provision of services to individuals with disabilities since 1968. We are a private, not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to be a leader in the field of developmental disabilities, committed to meeting the needs of individual growth, productivity, and independence through education, advocacy, and increased community acceptance and participation.

ARC provides the following professional services:

Children’s Services

Family centered Early Intervention Services for children birth to 3 years.
Developmental evaluations

Ongoing Service Coordination

Specialized training and therapy provided by Special Education Teachers, Physical Therapists and Speech/Language Therapists.

Parent Advocacy/Training Service
Advocacy and training for families transitioned into the 3-5 preschool system.

Training and Consultation to community based childcare and preschool programs.
Training, consultation and support given to community-based programs serving the 0 to 5 population to make available appropriate inclusionary options for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with disabilities.

Medicaid Services Coordination (MSC)
Assistance in obtaining necessary services and supports that will lead to successful lives in the community based on individual needs and desires (ages 3 -21).

Adult Services

Senior Retirement Program
The Senior Retirement Program is designed to provide elderly adults with disabilities a rewarding and age appropriate alternative to employment.

Guardianship
Assistance in obtaining guardianship, consultation services to human service agencies, education and training workshops and seminars.

Community Recreation and Leisure Services
Wide range of social and recreational options to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, and learn new skills and to learn how to participate in existing community-based activities.

Recreational Respite Services
Individualized activities, planned for and with a consumer that allow the family/caregiver to take a short break from "the daily routine”.
