Contract Cleaner – Custodial Services – Full-Time
Monday-Friday, occasional weekends

SUMMARY: 

Clean customer facilities as instructed by Janitorial Crew Leader or Site Supervisor. Duties will vary dependent on specific contracts and locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow the directions of the Crew Leader.
  • Complete assigned task list for each specific assignment which may include:
    ▪ Checking all restrooms in assigned area.
    ▪ Cleaning restrooms and re-supplying as necessary.
    ▪ Sweeping and mopping of all restroom floors.
    ▪ Cleaning facility windows.
    ▪ Dusting all desktops, cabinets, ledges, partitions, furniture, etc.
    ▪ Cleaning floors as required, using floor signs and all appropriate safety procedures.
    ▪ Emptying waste receptacles and replacing liners as needed.
    ▪ Removal of all recycling material and placing in appropriate bins.
  • Properly maintain equipment.
  • Report equipment failures promptly to Supervisor or Crew Leader.
  • Report any problems, complaints or incidences promptly to the Supervisor or Crew Leader.
  • Inspect area for cleanliness and ensure no cleaning devices (chemical containers, equipment, rags, etc.) are left behind.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wear personal safety protection appropriate to the area where work is being completed.
  • Be knowledgeable in blood-borne pathogens and apply proper safety precautions.
  • Be knowledgeable about cleaning products and chemicals and use in accordance with prescribed recommendations.
  • Use ergonomically correct posture when completing repetitious work or lifting pails, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent education. A minimum of one (1) year janitorial experience. Must have ability to work productively when unsupervised. Some experience working as a team. Ability to pass a required background check. A valid driver’s license.

Plan Coordinator – Full-Time
Monday-Friday

SUMMARY: 

Responsible for the creation of and oversight of implementation of habilitative and/or vocational plans to support identified goals of assigned program participants. Plan development includes engagement with support team and a focus on experiences which support individual choice, independence and community integration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Attend participant annual and semi-annual individualized planning meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and upload participant plans and objectives.
  • Document individual safeguards and update as necessary.
  • Responsible for collection and distribution of plans and eligibility information.
  • Collect and maintain attendance data per agency policy and billing standards.
  • Train Direct Support Professionals on updates and/or changes to programs and safeguards.
  • Provide direct care back-up coverage in all Habilitation Programs as needed.
  • Write program notes for assigned individuals supported.
  • Review and QC of daily billing documentation as assigned.
  • Incorporate choice and informed decision-making into all phases of planning.
  • Assess strengths and barriers to individuals’ success and develop strategies to promote success.
  • Collaborate with Nursing and Clinical team as participants’ needs require.
  • Provide support to program staff in implementing goals and programs in site-based and community settings.
  • Work as part of a cohesive interdisciplinary team to support participants’ engagement in program and goal achievement.
  • Augment current job knowledge by participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, etc., conducted both within the agency and outside the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Associate Executive Director for Program.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree with 1-3 years’ experience working in a disability services agency or similar program. Or High School diploma (or equivalent) and combination of education, training and 2-5 years’ experience working with people with disabilities. A valid, clean New York State driver license.

Community Habilitation Aide – Part-Time

SUMMARY: 

The Community Habilitation Aide is responsible for providing direct support to individuals enrolled in the Community Habilitation program.  This position is responsible for providing individual directed supports and services to promote positive community engagement activities, which includes hands-on assistance, supervision, instruction, and guidance for the assigned individual(s).  The Community Habilitation Aide implements assigned goals, objectives, and services for individuals in one on one and small group settings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide hands-on assistance, instruction, and guidance on an individual and small group basis in the development of skills, as outlined in program plans, to individuals in community based settings.
  • Supports individuals in engaging in community activities and achieving goals.
  • Models and supports positive behavioral and appropriate social interactions within community settings.
  • Assist individuals with personal care and hygiene needs as necessary. Demonstrates appropriate techniques in all physical interactions or interventions with individuals, including lifting, transferring, positioning, or redirecting.
  • Acts as a member of the Community Habilitation team providing feedback, suggestions, etc. for program plans for individuals. Assists, as requested, in assessment and evaluation of individual’s needs and abilities.
  • Works flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary in order to meet the needs of individuals served.
  • Must be able to transport self and individuals in an Agency provided vehicle and/or their own vehicle through-out entire service area (Oswego County) as well as to program activity sites.
  • Works collaboratively with families, caregivers, individuals, and the Behavior Support Coordinator to ensure services delivered meet the needs of individuals and communication is proactive among all members of the team.

Respite Aide – Part-Time

SUMMARY:
The Arc Respite Aide is responsible for providing direct care to consumers attending the Recreation program. This position is responsible for supporting The Arc Coordinator of Recreational Respite Services, which includes hands-on assistance, supervision, instruction, and guidance for the programs’ consumers. The Arc Respite Aide implements assigned goals, objectives, and services for consumers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide hands-on assistance, instruction, and guidance on an individual, small, and large group basis in the development of skills, as outlined in program plans, to individuals in various settings as appropriate.
  • Assists individuals with personal care and hygiene needs as necessary. Demonstrates appropriate techniques in all physical interactions or interventions with consumers, including lifting, transferring, positioning, or redirecting.
  • Acts as a member of the recreation team, providing feedback, suggestions, etc. for program plans for individuals. Assists, as requested, in assessment and evaluation of individual’s needs and abilities.
  • Accompanies individuals on community outings, as requested. Ensures safety of participants. Serves as a positive role model for individuals.
  • Works flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary in order to meet the needs of individuals served.
  • Must be able to transport self and consumers in an Agency provided vehicle and/or their own vehicle throughout entire service area (Oswego County) as well as to program activity sites.
  • Must maintain job-required certifications and/or licenses.

A valid NYS driver’s license, Criminal Background Check, Exclusion Check and Child Registry Check must be passed.
